Canyon High School Named One of America’s Best U.S. News and World Report in conjunction with School Evaluation Services, a K-12 data research and analysis business run by Standard & Poor’s recently conducted an analysis of 18,790 high schools in 40 states (required information was not reported from the other 10 states). Nueces Canyon High School has been named a Bronze Medal School which places it in the top 9% of all high schools analyzed. The analysis included measurements of how each school’s students performed on state tests, adjusting for student circumstances. Next there was an evaluation of how well each school’s disadvantaged students did. The third measurement had to do with a school’s success in providing college level coursework. The study was featured in the December 10, 2007 edition of U.S. News and World Report. The rankings can be found at www.usnews.com/highschools. |
